Goodbye Storybrooke, Hello Hyperion Heights. After six long seasons of "Magic always comes with a price," and "I will always find you," we now are taking Once Upon a Time in a new direction. Thank God. There is still some fresh meat on the bones of this series after all.
Don't get me wrong, I adored all the past seasons in their own unique way. (Save for the Frozen half of season 4. We get it, Frozen is a thing. Can we move on, please?) However, it was starting to drag with underdeveloped characters, repeated stories, and foes. When it was announced that a season 7 would air, despite half the main cast leaving, I was intrigued by the possibilities.

However, it was starting to drag with underdeveloped characters, repeated stories, and foes. When it was announced that a season 7 would air, despite half the main cast leaving, I was intrigued by the possibilities.
And now we have come to the fruit of those possibilities: Hyperion Heights. It was a nice send up to the original pilot episode while setting out to be its own story. It makes it very clear from the opening that this isn't going to be the same old story that we've come to know and love. Henry leaves Storybrooke behind to discover himself. As an adult, we find him in Seattle and a little girl Lucy is determined to make him believe that she is his daughter.
I won't give all the details away but there were some awesome moments that I have to share with you. The meeting between Cinderella and Henry I feared was starting bordering on the obnoxious Snow and Charming side of meet-cutes until she punches him in the face. I applauded Cinderella for her boldness.
Rumple or Weaver as he is called in Hyperion Heights is also going to be a thrill to watch. He definitely has his fingers in many different pots. Wonder what he is up to?
I was slightly disappointed to learn that the characters are under a curse again (Really guys, that's the best you can come up with?) but they are really pushing the envelope here. Henry doesn't believe in fairy-tales anymore and has his own cursed memories of what happened. I won't say what he believes because it will interesting to see how plays out.
Go check it out if you still want to believe in a little magic.
