Rumor has it...13th Doctor's New Companion

An interesting article was circulating today on the Daily Mail's website insinuating that the 13th Doctor's new companion has been cast. Chris Chiball sounds like he is fully embracing the gender swapping roles as the rumored new companion is male.

Hopefully, this rumored casting choice won't cause pandemonium amongst fans as the 13th Doctor's role being given to a woman. Throughout Doctor Who's fifty plus history, the doctor has had a few male companions throughout the years. Granted it was never just two men in the TARDIS, a female companion was always present alongside a male one. Still, not a new concept.

The rumored companion to be is Bradley Walsh, a British comedian, and actor who has appeared in the soap opera Coronation Street and is also the host of a quiz show called The Chase.

This could actually work. If he has comedic chops then I would love to see another pairing in the same manner as 10 and Donna. Those two had such great chemistry and for once, a companion was not in love with the Doctor. Not mention, the new series has had its fill of romantic tension (I look at you 10 and Rose, 11 and River). It would be nice if this new companion perhaps wasn't human. I know that Nardole wasn't human but he was human looking and emoted in the same matter.

In any case, right now it's just a rumor, perhaps to throw us off the scent of the real contender for the role. We'll have to stay tuned to see.

Once Upon A Time Season 7 Episode 1 Recap

Goodbye Storybrooke, Hello Hyperion Heights. After six long seasons of "Magic always comes with a price," and "I will always find you," we now are taking Once Upon a Time in a new direction. Thank God. There is still some fresh meat on the bones of this series after all.  Don't get me wrong, I adored all the past seasons in their own unique way. (Save for the Frozen half of season 4. We get it, Frozen is a thing. Can we move on, please?) However, it was starting to drag with underdeveloped characters, repeated stories, and foes. When it was announced that a season 7 would air, despite half the main cast leaving, I was intrigued by the possibilities.  And now we have come to the fruit of those possibilities: Hyperion Heights. It was a nice send up to the original pilot episode while setting out to be its own story. It makes it very clear from the opening that this isn't going to be the same old story that we've come to know and love. Henry leaves Sto...

This is Us Season 2 Episode 1-Recap

I must preface this with a warning. Please come with a box of tissue. Any veteran of the show's first season will tell you that the Kleenex is a badge of honor. And you will need them for the premiere of This Is Us's Season 2 Episode 1. If you have not watched the season premiere of This is Us, please for your sanity stop reading this post and watch the episodes. Return to me when you have done so. You armed with your tissues? Good. Now let's get to the highlights before I can no longer type due to the flood of tears raining down my face. Episode 1 entitled "A Father's Advice," has us catching the Big Three as they celebrate their 37th. Kevin is in the middle of shooting the Ron Howard film and he learned that Sophie won't be able to join him for his birthday due to her mother's illness. He goes forward with plans for a fancy birthday dinner with Kate and Toby. In the end, Sophie manages to make it to LA to surprise Kevin on his birthday. I wis...

It-A Review

For me, the mark of a scary movie is whether not I can sleep after watching one. After viewing It, I walked away terrified that Pennywise was around every corner ready to snatch me up. A sleepless night was in order for me. I can't even begin to express my awe over this production. The cast is superb. There can't be anything more that can be said about Bill Skarsgard other than creepy . His Pennywise the clown is probably the scariest clown I have seen to date. For the moment he appears in the drain, you know that he is evil. The makeup and costuming make him look menacing, scaring the pants off you at every turn. Even while just looking at him without dialogue, you are terrified. The child actors that make up the "Loser" Club are awesome. They managed to take the typical stereotypes of a clique and manage to make them unique and interesting. Bill was a character I could support and cheer for. I adored Richie and his foul mouthed behavior. Between the terror, h...
